Lady Chargers took it out on Santa Ana 3-0

Jacome scored two mins
into the game.
Cypress, CA - For the Charger Women's Soccer team this season, going a week without a victory could be as unusual as seeing an eclipse. After going 0-1-1 last week and suffering their first loss of the season, the Lady Chargers returned home to host the Dons of Santa Ana (3-10-2, 2-6-2.) In spite of their record, the Dons won two games last week, defeating IVC 4-1 and GWC 2-1, hence riding on a high carpet. The Chargers (11-1-2, 8-1-1) ensured that would not be the case as Reyna Jacome's header found the net only two minutes into the game to put the Chargers up 1-0 before any player broke a sweat. The Chargers continued to attack through out the 90-minute span and shot the ball 14 times. On the 44th minute, Kimberly Gonzalez' shot found the net to put the Chargers up 2-0 before the intermission. On the 9th minute after the half, Thania Valencia bullied her way to the Santa Ana's goal and slapped one to make it 3-0 and the eventual final score.

The Chargers will host IVC next week at Haas Field, having this Friday off.
